So I wear a ring on my middle finger, and I have for over a year now. About a week ago, a big red mark appeared across my finger, about where the top of the ring is. It itched for a little, but not too bad. It definitely didn't feel like a bug bite. The mark only grew. It's a slight bump now. It peels, like a sunburn would, but it's not a sunburn. And now it is very uncomfortable.
Any ideas on what it could be?! I'm in France, staying with a host family, so I am unable to go to the doctor, or put any creams on it until 4 days from now.
Please help! It also doesn't look as bad in the picture as it is.

Possibly could be a spider bite, maybe

Looks like a ruptured blister or a dent in the skin (caused by where the skin is scratched). Unlikely for it to be a spider bite if you're in France.

Probably just a mozzy bite or you've suddenly become allergic the the metal that your ring is made of

If you've been wearing the ring for about a year and haven't had problems before, it's probably not an allergic reaction to the metal it's made of. I agree with Hannah, it looks to me as a dent in the skin where it could have been scratched.. I've had things that look similar to that. I don't think it's a big deal. Maybe take off your ring until it heals so it doesn't cause further damage.

I think it's an insect bite. The little dent and redness kinda shows. Or maybe you had an allergic reaction from the oxidation of the ring. If it's gold and silver then probably not. But if it's a metal ring (cheap rings I guess) it could be a reaction. Hope it gets better!!
