What do you use for extremely dry lips?

For the past couple of weeks my lips have been a dry, burning mess (so much so that I haven't even been wearing lipstick). I have tried my tried and true Nivea, regular Chap Stick brand and EOS, plus I gently exfoliated, none of which seem to do anything. Does anyone have any holy grail suggestions? Thanks for reading!

Baby Lips in Peppermint, Carmex, and Vaseline Lip Therapy lip balm in cocoa butter are my favorites. I would have to say the Vaseline one is the best in my opinion. I've heard great things about Burt's bees too.

Vaseline always leaves me a million times worse! The burts bee range is my hg, I get extremely dry lips due to the air conditioning in my job, I use this for one day and my lips are back to normal :-)

Hydrate. If you are dehydrated no Chapstick in the world will help.

Whoops I didn't see you had tried that. Maybe try Aquaphor, Fresh, Bite, and First Aid Beauty.

I'll try some of those tomorrow. I was really wondering if I need to splurge on the new Glam Glow set, but I'm going to try the other options available. Thank you guys!!

I find OES really helpful. It usually only tends to moisturize best when you use it a few times a day.

I love jack black lip balm you can get it at Sephora, the stuff is amazing. I like the black tea & blackberry one but they have a few choices. It keeps my lips moistened and soft longer then any other balm I've ever used (:

I agree with Jackie about La Mer Lip Balm. That stuff is pricey but so worth it. I use Skinceuticals Antioxidant Lip Repair and then apply La Mer Lip Balm before bed. For daytime I apply the Antioxidant Lip Repair before application of lip color. I fell off the wagon recently and stopped with my usual routine and my lips are feeling right and dry as well. To exfoliate my lips I use AquaReveal Lip Peel which is super gentle and isn't gritty. If I feel like DIY I use sweet almond oil and a smidge of sugar. The Glam Glow for lips is another overpriced gimmick. I found it drying on my lips to point it stung. Right back to Sephora it went.

Def don't use lip gloss... it will only exacerbate the problem. I would not use peppermint oil- it is a known irritant and will worsen your condition. Try Burt's Bees unscented uncolored lip balm. It has a soothing quality that will heal your lips. Do not try to exfoliate them either! Time and unscented lip balm are the only ways to heal this :)

Lots of water! I use Carmex at night before bed and Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment during the day. I also use LUSH lip scrub about 2-3 times a week.

I would recommend Ultra Repair Lip Therapy by First Aid Beauty! They have a great deal at Sephora right now that comes with the lip repair and hydrating most for the face for only $15. We usually recommend this when using matte lipsticks since they dry your lips out to an extreme. You can apply this first and then apply a lipstick to keep your lips hydrated throughout the day. Or you could always use the product alone until you feel comfortable using lipsticks again! :)
