Does aloe Vera gel actually work for acne scars? Or is it a myth?

I took a girls advice off YouTube for healing acne scars with aloe Vera but honestly it didn't do anything for me. If anything it made it worse by adding acne or black heads or it would do nothing at all for me.

I don't think it'd work that well because to get rid of scars is to use vitamin e oil and massage it
