I've heard a lot of negative things about St Ives Apricot Scrub..? so here is what I think about the product.
Last year I had so many blackheads, they were HUGE and literally black, you could SEE the Oily yuck in my pores.. it was super awful.
I tried everything from home remedies to blackhead strips. So I kinda gave up and went to the chemist to see what was on sale, and all the St Ives products were, so I bought the Apricot Scrub, Oatmeal Scrub/Mask and like a Green Tea wash.
Anyway, I used the Apricot Scrub every second day on my full face and neck.. after a week I noticed that some of my blackheads were smaller and those pimples under the skin were gone.
I got this crazy idea to start using the scrub only on the affected areas so I could focus on them more. I used it every night. After a week almost all my blackheads were gone, I started using it again on my full face every second day until I ran out (I bought a medium size) I stopped using it until now (a year later)
I actually haven't had any blackheads since then :D

I found it was harsh for my skin, almost felt like a stinging sensation on my skin, also it has shell pieces in it. I have sensitive skin so maybe it reacted to it badly which it did. I came out of the shower red In my face which happens all the time. I find it hard to find products that would react to my skin. Now I'm searching for another brand, at the moment I'm looking into Philosophy.

Thanks for sharing your experiences with it! I was actually in Wal-Mart today and was debating getting it or not.

I was breaking out before and needed a face wash that would work so I bought Clearasil. One day I went to CVS and bought the Apricot Scrub for the heck of it and used it every night, I noticed my blackheads shrinking. Now I use it every time I'm in the shower at night.

I love it, but I only use it when my skin needs a deep scrub as it can be harsh. Just use with a light hand :)

Its abrasive but I like using on body instead of my face.

I absolutely love this scrub! It's my holy grail! I have heard a lot of negative comments on it too, but for me personally it works wonders! It calms any acne while scrubbing away any grime I've acquired. It leaves ny skin feeling soft, almost like a babys skin. I don't think I could live without it now that I've found it! :)

Yeah Tessandra, I am kinda wondering whether or not people are using it like right? like if they are using it not gentle, or maybe its their skin type, but yeah I love this scrub sooo much.

It's nice that your blackhead have disappeared. However, apricot scrubs have a bad rep due to the ground walnut shells used as the exfoliating ingredient. They are so harsh that they create micro cuts in your skin. I suggest switching to a more gentle exfoliant, or even a mild peel.

Jenna, we found something that works for us. If you use this scrub gently then it won't harm your skin. With most exfoliates, if you scrub to harshly with them you're bound to damage your skin. But we use this scrub gently and it doesn't damage our skin. I've been using it for well over a year and I've had no damage or irritation come from it. This exfoliate is very gentle, if you use it correctly.

Lydia, that's what I'm thinking. So many people think you have to scrub your face with exfoliates like you're scrubbing a dirty floor. If they were gentle with it, they might see a bit of a difference.
