I'd definitely recommend you mosturizing your skin with an oil. Coconut oil ( is awesome but beware and patch test it on a dry area or section of your face bc it can break you out, but of course everyone's skin is different (: ), or almond oil (fast absorbing) and then follow up with a mosturizer either Cerave or Cetaphil and see how your skin works with a primer. But try doing this process for a week or so. But if it continues to look splotchy, in my experience primers don't work. So I use no primer (:. I've noticed silicone primers and or primers in general usually make me produce more oil. Even Mattifying primers do so, and if they don't then they simply are too mattifying and makes my skin look splotchy and yucky.
So try using an oil (let it sink into your skin for about 10-15 mins) follow it up with a mosturizer of choice (oil-free preferably) for about 3-5 days. And like I said, if you see no difference then I'd suggest not using a primer (:
I have both oily and acne prone skin and no primer has been my go-to thus far c:

This may have a lot to do with your skincare routine and how you're prepping your skin. You may not notice it as much with other foundations since they're lighter. What foundation and any other face products are you using?

I just noticed its because I don't moisturize my skin before it I go right away with Mattifying products and don't hydrate my skin before any makeup products
