I don't really know where to put this so I just put it in makeup. Hahah. But I recently saw a post about covering up tattoos. Tiffany B suggested jawing something orange in color before applying concealer and powder and what not. But I was wondering if anyone could give me some example of products that I can use and what works. I have a tattoo and it can be covered with clothing but knowing how to cover them up with makeup would be helpful if I ever decide to get any in places that can't always be covered with clothing. Thanks so much!!

Dermablend works well. You can get a concealer & then powder.

So with covering tattoos, generally you'll need to correct first. I don't currently have tattoos but my sister's got the Cheshire cat smile from the tim burton movie on her shoulder/back, and I've had to cover it for her a few times. Hers is pink and purple, so I use a green yellowey corrector or if I'm in a rush a green yellow eyeshadow and pat it on top. This neutralizes the color, and then I go over it with a concealer that is an exact match to her skin. If she suggested orange, I assume your tattoo, or hers, is blueish in color.
When I cover my sister's I use my flash palette so I can customize the colors, but a correcting palette or eyeshadow in a pinch works too, then apply a concealer (personally for tattoos I think kvd covers insanely well, but derma blend has been highly recommended on here for tattoos, and hard candy glamaflauge is a dupe for kvd) but it's usually a cheap drugstore quick buy because it needs a lot of it, since hers is about 5 inches by 5 inches of pure color. But just make sure the concealer matches your skin perfectly or you'll be able to see the (for lack of better word) "blob" of concealer that's the wrong tone or shade.

Thanks ladies :)
@Alyx T...my tattoo is black and red and I'll definitely try it. I have a concealer that matches perfectly to my skin so that's good. Now I guess I'll just have to practice covering it up and see how I do. Hahah. Thanks ladies!

Definitely try it out when you don't need it. With black it's harder, because the undertone varies so much with the ink used, so it may take time to figure out what corrector works best. If you can, the mufe flash palette is super great for things like that, among tons of other useful ways of using it, but it is 99$ can, so even a cheap corrector palettes, I know nyx has one and I'm sure lots of drugstore brands have some now too. Or even buying a few cream colors can help.
