Hi all.
I'm just wondering if anybody has made and used their own skin care products.
I was thinking of making my own rose water to use as a toner and was wondering if anybody has done so before?
Also looking for a natural exfoliating recipe and one for extracting black heads (on my nose)!
Be interested to hear from you all 😊

I've never made my own products, but I want to warn you, be careful and do your research, for some of those "diy skincare" can do more harm than good. I recommend looking into natural brands instead :)

A lot of the time "natural" products just do harm to the skin. But most "chemicals" are natural, like take this picture. All of these chemicals make up a blueberry. Some of these things are in skin care products and people assume because it's a "chemical", which everything is made up of, that it's bad. But that's not always the case, and a lot of synthetic man made chemicals are much safer on the skin than natural found chemicals, because it's altered to do what it should without permanent damage. Like people using lemon juice on their skin, its doing more harm than good, and even though it's dangerous and can cause burns similar to chemical burns and makes your skin more susceptible to the sun rays, even sunblock can't protect it fully, they use it instead of a synthetic made tested for years serum meant to get rid of the problem without doing damage.
The only diy skincare I suggest are oatmeal masks, brown sugar (not white as it's sharp edges compared to the rounded edges of brown sugar), manuka honey, green tea/rose warer toner (but they have to be made weekly with distilled water or they grow bacteria quick), egg masks and certain oils, but stay away from anything citrus, anything sharp or jagged, or anything that sounds too good to be true. Also patch test everything first. Especially the honey, even if you are not allergic to pollen a lot of people react badly to it because of a slight allergy they didn't know about. So always patch test on the inside of the elbow and wait 24 hours.

I personally would use a paste of olive oil and salt and used it to exfoliate. My skin was always clear and smooth with that till I used tretinoin and I can't exfoliate without turning bright red lol

I use Manuka honey to spot treat acne and sometime cleanse my skin if I'm not wearing any makeup that day and what not.
I don't use a diy for my toner, I use a natural based one by Thayer rose petal witch hazel for my toner, I also use that and a mix of almond oil in a 3:2 ratio to take off my makeup which is amazing!! I also use the Thayer rose petal witch hazel as my hydrating mist using a spray bottle.
For my face and body scrub I use Manuka honey, ground coffee, and olive oil.

I don't make my own skincare, but I use a natural and organic (also cruelty free) brand called Andalou. They have a ton of products for any skin type and it has really helped clear my skin. Sorry I couldn't help more.
