I'm traveling to Paris in July (yay!!) and know that American flat irons and blow dryers use a higher wattage than European outlets can handle (I know...I've fried two) I have an outlet adapter but didn't know if anyone knew of any brands that are lower wattage or would be appropriate to use in European outlets. I don't feel like zapping any more hair equipment!! Thanks all!

I have bought outlet adapters for my hair tools that allowed you to convert the wattage on it as well as changing the prongs to fit... I think I bought it at Brookstone or Sharper Image. It kind of has a tiny lever or switch on it where you can adjust the input or output or something. Sorry I can't be more helpful, this was about 10 years ago =/

NOOOOOO do NOT put just stick an iron into an adapter. It does NOT work that way.
You need a dual voltage 110 to 220 straightening iron - most of them have buttons on them to let you switch (you still need the adapter).

Thanks so much for the info! I'll check at Target today. Anyone know about blow dryers? Mine is a high wattage but I don't know what would be acceptable for overseas.
