Non-Waxy eyebrow pencils, and cream/gel liners?

So my eyebrows are really sparse, and using a normal eyebrow pencil doesn't fill in the spots without any hair. I do know all about eyebrow markers, powders, waxes, and pencils- and I know that wax is what keeps most pencils together...But I'm hoping that someone else out there has the same issue as me and can tell me a good powdery, more dry pencil that works for them?!! Also I really want to try/know of some cream/gel liners that are applied with an angeled brush, so tell me your opions & prefrences on those too!!

I really enjoy Laura Mercier brow pencil because its not waxy like you mention,I also like gel liner by Sephora water proof gel liner.

What colors do you use? My problem with my hair being blonde I haven't found a gel liner that would be acceptable color they only seem to have black and dark brown :(

Oh so you want the gel for your brows, ok Bobbi brown has some browns but I haven't seen a blonde gel liner yet.I be used Nyc brow shadow in blonde or Anastasia brow in Taupe and Ash Blonde.I'll do some research for you.

Here's what I just found, and I called around to my Ultas that carry it, but sephora doesn't- weird... but I think I'm going to make a trip out there tommorrow to see how it is, although I'm dreading spending $30 on it, but if it works, owell! :D
but if you know of something just like this but cheaper? that'd be great!! They have only brows too but the taupe looks pretty good :D I'm really excited!!

Anastasia brow pencils aren't waxy. While it looks natural when applied, I also have to sharpen it often because of it, therefore it being used up fairly fast. I suppose I prefer a more pigmented pencil, but I want to try e.l.f brow kit next. Also, I use Anastasia to tinted brow gel and I really like it.

Tarte came our with a new brow product called Amazonian clay waterproof brow mousse that comes with an angles brush to apply it with. I'm actually ordering one now because I've been looking for a non waxy eyebrow filler! And it got good reviews on sephora :) and for the eyeliner gel, I use one from Mac, it's their eyeliner gel pot in the color blacktrack. (It's a nice dark black) hope I helped :)

I totally forgot to put the link to the tarte brow mousse above haha! But here it is!

http://www.ulta.com/ulta/browse/productDetail.jsp?skuId=2247660&productId=xlsImpprod4520007&navAction=push&navCount=1&subdoc=5tarteemphaseyes&categoryId=cat80044%20cat50009

Nessa- I just found that online too! The tarte product is just what I was talking about when I said liner/gel I wanted something that Is in that type of form like an eyeliner and applied like a gel/cream liner but isn't...mac temperarily came out with a product similar to the tarte one from their fluidline, it is called fluidline brow gelcreme.. you can still find it online and it had really good ratings, some better than the tarte one.
I just wonder if there is something else other than the one by tarte? I'm going to keep looking because I like trying different brands/formulas :p

Wow that looks pretty, you have to let me know how it works for you.I found another brand called Essence they sell at Ulta.  :-)

I've used some of their lipglosses, one of them is called pink candy and it's the excact dupe of nars turkish delight- sooo close! What did you find? They haven't ever had any gel liner or eyebrow products at my Ulta, so I don't know?
What would probaly really work well for you though is the NYX brow marker, they have it in light &dark browns. I've tried it in both, and curently use the dark one, the light is too red for my taste :( but this is under $10.00 @ Ulta and it works so great. I was really scared/hesitatant because it's a "marker" but the lines are so clean and you can draw fine hair like lines, and it looks really powdery when it dries, I really love it- I just wish it wasn't too dark for me :(

I also just found this product by Sephoras- Make up forever line, aqua brow waterproof cream
http://www.sephora.com/aqua-brow-P375462
This looks really really good, and reading the reviews everyone had a lot of positive things to say and it's rated very well. I'm going to go to sephora and check this out today forsure! But I'm deff going to keep looking into these type of products, just wanted to share what I found! xoxo

Makeup Forever's aqua brow is to die for! I used to use Anastasia brow pencil before I was introduced to aqua brow and it was great for awhile until I realized how waxy the product is as I also wanted a brow product that I can fill and add to define. Not only is it waterproof but sweat proof too! I wear it every single day. I'm bright blonde too and use color 25 because I like them darker than my hair for a more boldly defined look but they have 2 lighter colors too!

Alma- I've never tried any of their products yet, so I'm really excited!! :D

Chelsie- YAY!! Thank you for sharing that! It makes me feel better to know I'm not the only one who has had this issue, because when I've asked the girls at Ulta about a non-wax eyebrow pencil or product they've looked at me like I'm crazy when I explain why. But if you're eyebrows on are permanent vacation like mine are!- or you have sparse hairs, or spots with no hair, then you know how hard it is to get the pencils product to go on your skin! I'm so glad that you wrote this though, I'm even more confident in going to get it! Your brows look amazing & I'm glad you have blonde hair too so you know how hard it is to match the brow product to look natural! The only thing I'm worried about is, does it look cakey? Or get crusty throughout the day? Sometimes product like that will flake, crease, and crack so I was just wondering how it looks later on in the day vs the morning? The fact that it's water&sweat proof is soo great, there's nothing worse than working out without eyebrows haha! ;)

Thanks girls! xoxo

My picture is older actually from when I was in the process of dying my hair back to my natural blonde after I went basically black- is it possible to change our profile pictures? I tried so you could have a better idea of my actual bright blonde and brows because in that picture it was still the Anastasia pencil.

It doesn't cake or crust throughout the day AT ALL. I put it on for the gym too (that's all I put on) or I look weird because I color them everyday always and even dripping sweat on the elliptical for an hour only causes the outter tail of my colored on brows to be more faded. That's because I'm consistently wiping my face sweat so basically, that's the only case it comes off is excessive sweat with wiping. Even in the shower (unless you get face wash in it) it'll stay on.

All in all, it dries naturally with your brow and stays on just as natural as long as you're not super brutal to them.

I figured it out- changed my picture!

Chelsie- Sorry I didn't see this until now, I made the trip out to Sephora last night to the biggest one around me which was a ways away, but it was a three bay Makeup forever beauty bar sephora so it was HUGE! It's like candyland for me haha I was in there for hours, litterally until they kicked me out because they were closing :( But anyways, I took your advice and went and bought it, and I tried out all of the different colors and the medium one number 15 I didn't like it was a little too red but it also dried a differnt color than it showed up, but I ended up getting the lightest one, 10 in blonde, which is more of a ash light brown and I'm going to take pictures and post them to show you how well it works! I'm gradally bleaching my hair lighter and lighter every month until I get to the platinum I want so I wanted something light and besides I have really light coloring anyways and the other brow products I have matched the darker color which I still may go back and get too just to have- But anyways, sorry I'm rambling so much. This stuff really is amazing! And I asked a few different people there and it's the only product on the market even with all of those high end brands, make up forever is the only one that makes this stuff, and it is really everything and more people said it would be! I tried it out on my hand and I got it wet, and was scrubbing it and nothing it didn't come off until I used either soap and water or make up remover! I'm sooo happy about that the most because I live in florida so swimming is an everyday thing for me and I hated not having eyebrows but this will literally be so perfect for everyday! Ahh I'm just so happy and relieved I found it. I also used it last night but went back over it and cut my brows out with concealer which helped to fix any uneven lines and to make them perfect! The only question I have is how do you apply it to your brush, I mean I put a tiny dot on my hand but I feel like it dried on my skin too quick and with it being in the squeeze tube it's not the best for getting the product out (I would much rather have it be in a little pot you can dip your brush in like liners and eyeshadows) but that's the only thing I would change about this product! It's really amazing. They unfortunately didn't have the tarte brow mousse there for me to compare them, but the reviews online for the brow mousse and swatches comparing the tarte brow mousse, make up forever aqua brow, and mac's limited edition fluidline browcreme- the aqua brow is the only one that didn't cake or ball up after applying because the others seemed to be too dry and dry too fast they would crack and cake, and they weren't WATER PROOF! they would rub right off! So I didn't even mind not being able to compare them because I'm so happy with product! Thanks again for suggesting it!! I'm really in love with it right now! I do wish it came with a brush like tarte's does though, but what brush do you use with it? I just used my small tiny angeled brush from e.l.f which seemed to work well, and I like to use cheaper brushes for these products in case they ruin the brush, (I had a cream eyeliner ruin a brush and I couldn't wash it off and the bristles just stuck together and it was a mess) , and then I comb it out after with a spoolie, if you have any tricks for apply and how you do it please tell me! I think I'm going to try putting a tiny dot of it on my counter top or a small mirror and dip it in that, instead of on my hand so it won't dry as fast maybe? Idk!! But thanks again love!! xoxo.

I know what you mean about it drying on your hand quickly, but that's what I use still. I now put smaller amounts at a time on my hand so less product is wasted. Because even if you put it on a different surface, you still can't put it back in the tube. So, smaller dots on the back of my hand. Once you have your first dried spot on your hand, it doesn't absorb as much for any more of the brow cream you put there.

For a brush, I bought Sephora's PRO brow #20 brush. It's a perfect angle brush. Since I use the product every single day, I wanted a brush that's good and going to last for the product I'm using it for. It was $14 but like I said, I use it enough to get my money's worth!

As for having products ruin brushes and stick together, that should never happen! Do you clean your brushes? I have a shampoo for them I use monthly and a daily cleanser spray I use (daily after use) that was also $14 from Sephora that is found by the brushes. I spray the cleanser on each of the brushes I use and swirl motion wipe them gently on a tissue to remove the product on them so they're antibacterial and ready for the next use.

Yeah I wash my brushes once a month, and my foundation brush twice a month- and I santize them everyday after use with the daily cleanser spray I have from Sephora too, and I don't know how really to explain it, the product made the bristles of the brush really hard and stick together it was weird, and it happened one day I didn't have time to clean my brush after using it, and that's what happened in a matter of a few hours, like just completely ruined it. When I was talking to the girl at Ulta one day about it, she said that some liners have reactions with different types of hair and with certain prodcuts like that you're supposed to use a synthetic brush? I really don't know, but I basically learned my lesson and I just don't spend too much money on brushes like that since I go thru them so fast and I like to have different brushes for each thing, just a weird habit; although after going to that huge sephora they had a lot more brushes now so I'm thinking about buying a complete new set soon!
But yeah, I really hope that they do change the packaging from a tub because it is a waste of product if you put too much down or dries too fast, plus maybe it's just me, but I feel like when the product starts to run out there's a lot of it that gets completely wasted in there. I think I'm just going to buy a small little paint pot from mac to put all of the product in.

Yeah I was going to say you're brush is probably not synthetic. You'll want synthetic brushes for wet products. They're made from non-absorbent plastic material so it won't absorb your product and therefore cause damage to the bristles and after awhile the brush itself. Yours is probably made of hair bristles which are for powder products. They don't look too much different since their so fine but how they react will tell you if you're unsure.

Chelsie, yeah it was kinda shitty because I didn't really know that and when I bought those brushes they weren't too expensive but it was kind of a waste because I didn't really think it would matter and I always thought that synthetic was bad, but then that happened so what can you do. I just went out and bought a new eco tools small angled eyeliner brush for putting the aqua brow on, I really like the eco tools brushes becuase of how soft they are and I really like how nice quality they are for the price. Although I really like the real techniques brushes but haven't used any of the smaller ones, have you?

No, I haven't! Besides a couple brushes at target I use to use, I still have On my a few eye shadow brushes from bare escentuals I've had for a couple years and the newer Sephora face and brow brushes.

Gotya. I don't personally like target/sofia kashuk brushes if that's what you're talking aabout, I have a set of her brushes that I feel like shed wayy too bad and don't hold up thru washings and such. I love sephora's brushes! They're just rediculously expensive, there's a face brush form them I want so bad but I can't convince myself to spend $60 on it right now, even though I know it's worth it and will last forever. I would seriously suggest you looking into real tecniques brushes at Ulta sometime, they're super affordable but they are such good quality, they don't shed they're soft but they also are made for being able to use in different ways- I just am obsessed with them. The lady that owns real techniques, Samantha Chapman, deff did her research& seriously did such a good job with them!!
