Using a base is a must with these shadows
I purchased this on a Maybelline BOGO. I didn’t expect much. My first attempt with this eyeshadow duo was with primer. Within 3 hours, the eyeshadow had noticeably faded. The next time I tried the eyeshadows, I used a white base. It did not fade as much as my first attempt. I would also strongly advise bringing the duo and a brush with you for touch ups.
The feel of the darker shade is considerably more buttery. I could easily deposit color on my lid without much fallout. The two shades also blended well. I’m not a fan of the packaging. Though the lid closes tightly, the hinge squeaks rather loudly. I also take issue with the layout of the shadows. The current Expert Wear line has a larger pan for the lighter shade. My favorite is the darker, more buttery shade. I wish each of the pans had the same amount.
