My naturally curly kinky hair has seen better days. After years of applying unprotected heat and styling products, in an attempt to change my hair texture, I find that I don't have that bouncy shape all curlies have anymore.

So, I looked for curling rods that gave a natural curly result but most gave me a Shirley Temple-poodle like look. Which, if you'd agree with me, is not cute.
I ended up creating my own curling rods, which are great because, depending on how thin or thick I cut them, they give me sort of irregular, yet thorough curly patterns - essential to a "natural" look.
They're fun and easy to make. All you need is gauze and some sponge. I use mine 3 or 4 times, before making a new batch of about 25-30 rods.
