Ghee (or clarified butter) is one of India's staple foods and a basic in Ayurvedic cooking and beauty routine.
Deprived from lactose and cholesterol (what usually is the cause of high blood pressure, allergies, poor digestion, uneven skin, etc.), the ghee is just pure fat. And fat is actually good for health. Of course, it has to be ingested in moderation.
So I encourage everyone to try out, little by little, to incorporate ghee into everyday life. In cooking, just a tsp or so for a meal will open all taste buds into a symphony of delight w/out the afterwards guilt.
Another use for ghee: Abhy massage (or ayurvedic massage) and moisturizer for face and body.
