My hair is red on top and black on the bottom. two toned. I wanna dye the red. purple using vidal sassoon. my ends are fried from splat. I'm not worried about. but the splat dte made my hair not hold color. the salon said to have the layers cut back in my hair. and keep putting color filler in or keep redying it till it holds color again. I end up dying it bksck in the end. but will this work. what products do you guys use to help hold color. splat really ruined my hair.

I had a lot of trouble getting splat dye out of my hair also. I ended up bleaching it twice and dying over it three times and the color was still not great and a few pink patches showed through. if I had to do it again I'd go to a professional. if you're going to use a boxed dye you want to use one that has "100% grey coverage". Feria is a translucent or transparent dye which is what makes it multi faceted when your natural highlights show through, therefore not the best for covering unwanted color. hope that's helpful. it took over a month but I'm finally happy with the color I have now.

Splat isn't a very good thing to use on yoyr hair. It destroyed it. I recommend Manic Panic's Purple Haze if you want a really nice purple, but I'm not sure how purple you want your hair. It's a vegan dye and it doesn't damage your hair. it actually makes it soft and it has different hues in it. its super pretty and I recommend it. manic panic and ion are all I use when it comes to the crazy colors. they last and look amazing!
