It will dry out your hair and if it's colored it can also mess with dyed hair as well but it mainly dries the hair out so you can either try and not get your hair wet or make sure you wash it all out after your done with the pool.

It causes knots, put your hair in a bun or a cap to prevent knots.

Chlorine completely DESTROYS my hair no matter what I do. Especailly since my hair is blonde, it always jacks up my color and makes it neon orange. I avoid chlorine at all costs.

Yes
I swim twice a day everyday and my hair needs lots of care because of it
If you're swimming try to wear a swim cap
Also fully rinse your hair with regular water from a shower before swimming, because that decrease the amount of chlorine your hair absorbs
If you swim regularly use a shampoo and conditioner targeted at chlorine damaged hair, I like the triswim brand from swimco
And finally use a deep conditioner to help bring moisture back to your hair

Yes, it can be damaging. Quaserght's advice is absolutely right - wear a swim cap for sure! On top of that, try using a vitamin C rinse like Swimspray, which chemically breaks down the bond between your hair and chlorine. Normal shampoos are made for removing dirt and oil, and aren't effective for chlorine removal. Also, argan oil is amazing for making hair soft and shiny.
