I've been thinking of switching from glasses to contact lenses because people have been saying that I look better without glasses on. Are contacts a lot of work?

I switch from contacts to glasses on a regular. Contacts aren't a lot of work. You just have to find out which brand best suits your eyes. Also sleeping in them aren't very good for you either. You have to be comfortable putting them in & taking them out.

Theyre not alot of work but to me theyre a pain! Like Tiyah said you just gotta find a brand that suits your eyes. I have Baush and Lomb and honestly hate them. They get dirty and irratate me often and stick to my eye sometimes and it sucks. It also sucks if you get the smallest piece of dust in them your eyes water and make up runs. Lol. I'd prefer contacts over glasses so I'd say go for it, just know its a pain at times. Dont get frustrated though, stick with it. :)

i was wearing contacts my whole senior year because i thought they were cute and i thought i was going to look nerd wearing glasses but then i realized its a pain using contacts because if your wearing make up tears are going to fall out and mess up ur makeup...also u should use them when u need because it can hurt your eyes ...now i switched back to glasses and people tell me i look. older :P lol but i guess you gotta get used to it and give it a try :)

They're not a lot of work, but I agree with everyone else. I wear both contacts and glasses. If I'm wearing bold eyes, I'll wear my contacts. I always make sure to put them on at least 15 minutes before I put makeup on though so my eyes can adjust to them. You know you have a great brand of contacts if when you put them on, it feels like nothing is on your eye. Make sure you keep them and your contact case EXTREMELY clean though. Put them on before you put on makeup and take them out before you remove your makeup.

Contacts are a hassle when you wear makeup and they start acting up. I wear glasses mostly but ill wear contacts when I "feel" like goin through the process.

Be exteremely careful with contact lenses. Once you put a contact on your eye, it cuts off most of the supply of oxygen that goes to your eyes. NEVER sleep in them. I only wear mine for a max of 7 hours at a time. But just take care of them and your eyes and it is definitely worth it.

when you wear glasses you tend to get oily plus you have to keep them clean. Contacts are very easy and lots kess work .

Could I switch from contacts to glasses and then switch back to contacts in the same day?

I have both. And contacts aren't a lot of work ad long as you take them out at night, you won't have problems :)

And yes you can switch back and forth as many times as you want. But once I'm 18 I'm gonna get that laser eye surgery so I won't have to have either.

I wear contacts during the day and glasses at night. I'm a groomer so glasses and giving dogs a bath do not work well. I have not had any real problems and I have been wearing them for 12 years. I wear lots of eye makeup too and have no problems. Contacts are not for everyone though so see if your eye doctor will give you a free trial pair to see if its for you.

To me it was! you REEEAAALLY have to make sure they stay clean once theyre in & out of your eyes. And keep drops with you at all times. i couldnt do. for too long and it made me miss my glasses. But overall its good to do 50/50 b/c sometimes its great to not have glasses w/ every single cute outfit lol ijs....

I wear both. I also have daily contact so I just throw away the ones I wear and put in a new pair every day. When I get home from work I put on my glasses. Daily contacts are great, especially if you have allergies like I do and there is no maintenance or other products to buy.

What kind of contact lenses do you recommend for a lazy high school student like me? Daily contacts? Monthly? And how do the prices differ?
Dec 9, 2012
Jessica G.
I use daily contact lenses...but I actually prefer monthly just because I'm lazy and it's easier to take them out of their soaking case then ripping new lenses open. That's just me tho. Definitely practice at your eye doctor putting them in and taking them out, and don't leave until your comfortable doing so. I use Proclear which is like 45-50 for one box of 90 disposable ones, but I have two different prescriptions in each eye, so need two boxes. It's expensive :-\

I just recently went back to contacts after a long stint of wearing glasses because I had such dry eyes I couldn't find contacts that would work. I wanted to wear contact lenses again so I went back and was given daily contacts. You put in a new pair everyday and throw them out in the evening. I thought they were going to be a hassle but actually I love them! I don't have to worry about my glasses falling off or anything like that, and I don't have to worry about cleaning and storing my contacts every day. And I love the versatility they give me. So I would say they aren't a big hassle or lots of work. But if you are worried about it, definitely try a weeks worth first and try to get daily instead of weekly/biweekly/monthly contacts! :)

And don't feel like you have to stick with one or the other! I switch back and forth between contacts and glasses depending on how I feel! And for daily contacts, you CAN store them for a day if you know you're going to come back to them so don't worry!

Personally, I get a sort of headache when I wear glasses for too long. Plus there are the dig-in marks after you take them off from a long period of wear. So contacts for me are definitely easier to wear. Besides, you can really get creative with your makeup without having to hide it behind glass and rims. On the other hand, glasses can be very sexy, depending on what brand you're wearing. Nothing screams mysterious and sexy, and making others believe you're clever in the art of wit and flirtatiousness than a pair of good ole glasses;) Stay Beautiful.

I think you kind of get used to it. I wear both. I wear contacts most of the time, and glasses maybe once a week. I don't find it to be a pain at all because I've been wearing contacts for 15 years now so I'm totally used to it
