How to get your eyeshadow to look nice and neat?

Ok so for awhile now ive been really liking how the MAC girls at the MAC counter have their eyeshadow.very nice and neat and tapered. I want my eyeshadow to look like that more. (Sort of how the picture looks)Not saying that my eyeshadow is bad but i like theirs more. What do you all recommend? I know i put my foundation on before my eyeshadow , but some people do it vice versa. Which way is better?

The first thing that may sound pretty basic, but makes a huge difference is the type of brushes you have. Honestly, it's important to invest in good quality eyeshadow brushes that come in many variations. Certain brushes are for specific parts of the eye and really contribute to how neat the colors come across. For example, I recently got a kit with a crease brush, brow bone type brush, an all over lid brush, and then one for the outer edge and inner tear duct and under the eye for liner lines. Also, always blend blend blend. I love to have a blending brush with nothing on it to make it neater. I definitely do my foundation first because my eyes are naturally a bit darker colored so without it the eyeshadow would be off with the rest of my face if that makes sense? Then I use an eye primer over my eye to the brow bone and then a bit under the eye to that eyeshadow stays put all day, as well and leaving the concealer to not crease. Also after I do conceal or to clean it up and I use it up to the edge of my eyebrow to make a clean uplifted eye. If you draw out your eyeshadow in a winglike shape, using tissue to fold it and place against the corner of your eye to the corner or your eyebrow will leave a clean line as well. Hope this helps!

I agree with everything Jessica S says. Brushes and blending! I apply my foundation last because I tend to have a bit of fallout that I want to clean off of my face first.  Xoxo

Yeah that is soo true jessica i mean i have good brushes and i do everything your saying i guess what i really meant was how to clean it up afterwards to give that nice and neat , almost tapered look.
