I've tried to go to the salon and they did a deep conditioning treatment. . .but that didn't work. I'm starting to wonder if I should just cut the spilt ends off.
Any suggestions?

Like Alexis said, cut then off. You can't get rid to split ends but you can prevent them. Keep your hair away from heat and get a haircut when you feel that there's alot of split ends. The split ends will only keep splitting unless you cut them.

You can either go for a temporary fix by adding serum to the ends of your hair (pref coconut serum) & then running over a flat iron.. OR for a much longer lasting solution you can go for 'Hair Lamination' I have a post on my blog of a great cheap and effective DIY for this > http://bit.ly/WvjPdX basically lamination will leave your hair completely straight, adds up to 15% more volume, and it's restoring the hair to it's full health!x

The only way to get rid of split ends is to cut them off. However there are products that you can use that temporarily mend them. I would recommend trying Simply Organic Split Ends Treatment, which is designed to treat and temporarily mend damaged, fragile, split ends. The product is made with certified organic ingredients which nourish and restore damaged, dry, or brittle hair while balancing moisture and increasing elasticity.

There is no way to heal, repair or mend split ends, the only way you can get rid of them is by trimming, and you have to do it quick before the split goes all the way to the root. Products that claim to mend split ends are lying, what they do is disguise the problem with a special conditioner that makes the split ends 'stick' together without actually healing them. Once you get a trim, use hydrating and repairing products to prevent split ends, pro naturals argan oil is great at this and makes your hair stronger, I use it all the time.

There are no products out there that can repair split ends. Only answer is to get a trim. Getting a haircut as often as every 6-8 weeks your hair will grow faster. After that just use products to maintain moisture & protect from styling tools.

Never heard of mending split ends O.o, I know of products sticking the ends of your hair together so they LOOK mended, until you wash it out of course. I’m still a firm believer of trims though, that sorts split ends out once and for all. That and my trusty bottle of pro naturals moroccan argan oil. That stuff has always protected my hair from getting split ends :) You can use that so you don't get any more split ends in the future.

Yes, you have to cut them off. No matter what you do, one the hair is split, it's split. Get them trimmed every 2 weeks until the damage is gone. As for products, anything with protein & moisturizers will do the trick.

I've been using Redken Extreme Anti-Snap...it's not a miracle but it helps coat the hair shaft and helps PREVENT breakage. It will not fix it, the only way to "fix" split ends is to get them cut off.

I just mentioned this in another similar post but in case you didn't see it, Tresemme has a whole line of split end repair products and it really does work very well. It actually binds your ends back together. I haven't cut anything off the bottom of my hair in about seven or eight months and blow dry/straighten every day and my ends are fine!

You need to cut them of asap! my hair dresser said all of those products that claim to fix split ends are only temporary fixes and mask the problem, not actually eliminate the problem. Once u get a trim, minimize heat styling, dont brush hair when wet, use a wide tooth comb, and comb the hair starting at the bottom to get rid of tangles. :)

TRIM!! Remedies and scammy products that say they mend split ends are useless, they just stick them together so they look normal until you wash your hair again. Get a trim then use a product called pro naturals moroccan argan oil to prevent split ends from coming back. Thats all you can do, prevent them.
