Wash with cold water, use a color enhancing shampoo, don't wash everyday... Use a dry shampoo in between, heat styling will also make the red fade a little faster.,. Red is a high maintenance color, so with that being said it will need to be getting colored often especially if you are using hot water, reg shampoo, and washing every day

Wash your hair in cool water... I put a little of my manic panic leftover hair color in my shampoo to keep it refreshed in between washes. Don't wash your hair everyday try skipping a few if your hair is oily try using a dry shampoo or just wash your hair in cold water and blowdry afterwards. It helps close the hair cuticle down and lock in color.

Here is what I did for mine: I washed no more than every other day with sulfate-free shampoo and I mixed my hair dye into my shampoo. I would let it set for a few minutes before rinsing it out. Rince with cold water and its good! Color lasted as long as I did this for over 6 months and I did not have any additional damage to my hair.

My hair use to be vibrant purple-alwas used cold water and once a week I used a conditioner mixed with a all natural stain from special effects line and left the mix in for 15mins...not only was I leaving the conditioner in my hair providing a "treatment" but also just refreshing my colour

Next time you dye it red, or any other vibrant color, BEFORE rinsing with water, rinse with white vinegar and make sure all of the dyed portion is saturated well. Then let your hair absorb the vinegar for a few minutes. Then rinse with water. Lol. Don't wash it frequently. And minimize heat styling (curling iron, hair dryer etc) I use vinegar when I dye it and it works :) also dont wash it for at least 48 hours after dyeing it. Btw I only wash my hair 2 or 3 timea a week and I use dry shampoo in between. Lol. And if you're going out in the sun, wear a hat and or use a sun protectant spray for your hair
