I have really long hair and every time I straighten it, it doesn't stay. How do I make it last?

try straightening your hair after you shower and wash your hair to prevent greasiness which can make your hair curl and use a heat protectant (i recommend garnier fructis' 24 hour straightener protectant) as well as a serum such as Paul Mitchell's shine serum. hope I helped and good luck!

You could get it permanently straightened at a salon, I know it costs a lot but it would save your time straightening your hair each time :)

I have the same problem D: I am now a apprentice hairdresser, and I recomend purchasing a GHD hair straightener. Yes, it is expensive. But so worth it! It also come with a GHD thermal spray, protects your long hair fri the heat, and locks in the straightness. I Definitely would never look back! :) <3

Make sure your hair is bone dry before straightening it.

Thanks for all the advice! I already use protectant so I think my problem is my straightener. How much is the GHD?

GHDs are £80 upwards, but I've had mine for 5 years and they're still amazing, definitely worth it! Salons sometimes have offers on them so just keep looking :)

Nice! I'll think I'll buy one since I do my hair constantly. Thanks :)

I am obsessed with the Loreal EverSleek Sulfate Free Sleek Intense Serum! It was only like $6 bucks at Walmart. I prefer it over the $50 bottle or Argon oil I bought. I use about 3 pumps and work it into my damp hair from my ears down. Then I blow dry it straight. Then the next day I use a high quality straighter and just need to do a few touch up spots after applying Chi Thermal Guard. I think the biggest key is blow drying your hair and never letting it air dry.

I use a HAI straightener. It has lasted me 5 years and STILL works like new :) it's better than chi and it makes my coarse, thick hair smooth like silk :) I am also able to make various types of curls that last until they are washed out. Orher brands, both from the drug store, and "high end" brands barely lasted me a year, then they'd stop working.
