So I've read a lot about the use age of coconut oil for health and beauty and I'm deciding to give some a go!
Tonight I tried a mixture of baking soda with coconut oil.
I have oily skin, with acne and some scarring.
I just made a little mixture of it until it formed some sort of paste and massaged it into my skin for about a minute in the shower.
I'm not sure what properties in either of these are good for skin and acne, but so far I can say that it was a very light exfoliant and afterwards my skin is feeling very clean and moisturized, and not at all icky like when I've used some diy olive oil and brown sugar scrubs.
So if you want to follow, I'll give an update tomorrow morning on my skin.
Aswell I will be trying more coconut oil remedies and update on them.
Probably going to try it on my eyelashes and eyebrows tonight as I've heard it promotes growth!

I don't wanna be a Debbie downer, but baking soda isn't the best thing to put on your face :/ also, coconut oil doesn't make your eyelashes grow. it only conditions them.

I'm with Kat, even though it may seem to work be careful. Coconut oil is comedogenic which means it clogs pores. If you wanted a cleansing oil ask someone to help you in Sephora. They had a big facial oil promotion about two months ago. Also be aware that because it clogs pores, putting it around the lash line may create styes. I know what from experience with other products.

I have heard that baking soda is really harsh for your skin, especially if it is acne prone and as with coconut oil, I have acne prone skin and I have actually tried that and got the worst cystic pimples from it so be careful!

It also gave me a lot of white heads as well!

I use coconut oil (organic) to remove make up and in my body scrub. It's wonderful, but baking soda is harsh and often irritates delicate flesh. I'd use brown sugar and coconut oil instead. It's great for keeping lashes soft.

Always do a test patch! :p.

I use coconut oil as a moisturizer at night and my face is much clearer and less oily, no breakouts whatsoever but everyone's skin is different so always do a patch test.

Update : personally today my skin felt great. It was way less oily, I didn't even need to re apply foundation until around 5. Usually I'm reapplying at 12 and again around 4 just to make it bearable.
I have acne, but my skin isn't really sensitive at all.
so I definitely didn't have a bad experience with it.
