Any ideas on how to keep a box dye from fading?? I have color safe shampoo and conditioner and the color in my hair is a red medium auburn color but I've only had it for like a week and for some reason the color just doesn't want to hold! it's almost completely faded from the ends of my hair now. advise? thanks beauties!

Don't wash your hair everyday and use cold water while washing your hair.

Red is a huge pain in the butt, always faded so quickly for me also. One of these pretty ladies suggested to add some of the dye to my conditioner and I found it worked wonderfully. My hair is back to jet black now and I do it as well with this color, still works like a charm😉 hope that helped ya💋💕

Whenever I've had coloured hair I just use shampoo a lot less, shampoo strips the colour out a lot more than conditioner does. Also wash your hair a lot less. Although it may be the box dye you are using aswell. Try out another one and see if it lasts longer :)

I have red hair for exactly 1 year and Honestly I take care of it sooo much..I wash my hair once a week, I know it sounds disgusting but its not because you can use dry shampoo for those days that you don't wash it,,I used riveting reds shampoo, its really good because the shampoo is really red and the color stays longer. But right now I'm using one n only argan shampoo and I mix manic panic hair dye with color defense from ion (sallys)..I use this like conditioner and I leave it for like 10 mins..I hate when red turns orange I like to keep it nice so I dye mu roots with loreal highlights red and the rest with manic panic wildfire red (this doesn't damage my hair at all) I hope this help you :) also I use hydrating mask and argan oil 👌

Wash hair as little as possible and when you wash it use cold or lukewarm water also be sure to use a color protecting shampoo n conditioner but really it can only last as a vibrant red for up to a month at the most... Even then it usually starts to fade after 2 weeks :T.

Wash your hair with a pigmented red shampoo and conditioner and every 2weeks make a deep red pigmented hair care mask that it.you ll have to dye your hair every 8 weeks but just the roots not the longer because the pigmented hair care mask is keeping the red pigment in your hair
