I have freckles, I've lighten them by always using SPF and wearing a hat while out in the sun because basically our freckles are caused by sun exposure.

At least SPF 15 but best to use 30-50. :) I wear 15 around the house and at least 30 outside.

Freckles are caused by melanin in the skin @lynzie.

Yeah sorry technically aspect of it there cause by an uneven production of melanin pigment cause by our genetic makeup. You can't completely get rid of them but you can safely lighten them with sun screen and limiting sun exposure. Sorry for possibly confusing anyone :)
