it's when your skin has a shiny/glowy look to it, but doesn't look oily. you can use an illuminator or illuminating foundation to achieve this look. it's not recommended for people with oily skin tho.

Yup, it's not recommended for those with oily skin. Although it's not impossible, just takes more steps. I have really oily skin and do the dewy look most of the time.

Those are indeed dewy, but to me, there is an entire dewy spectrum..with these being on the high end.

They just look sweaty/greasy to me, like they forgot their powder before they left the house... Is that how it is supposed to look? I don't understand how that is desirable.

That's pretty much how it can look. My grandma doesn't like the look either she's like a hardcore powder user. I like it even though I have oily skin and it's better because it looks more realistic to my skin yet not as greasy looking cause the powder makes me look dull and flat

And a dewy face. A dewy face just looks lighter, like they only used a tinted moisturizer rather than looking like she put on foundation and powder.
