Try exfoliating just after you get OUT of the shower. I would do this once a week and use a masque to draw out impurities from clogged pores (after a shower as well) once a week also..but a few days apart from exfoliating. It is crucial to use a gentle cleanser, like Philosophy's Purity or CeraVe, and a toner..followed by a moisturizer. You want one rich in Vitamin A...like "Kiss My Face" or a gentle, nourishing one like CeraVe. Avoiding oils is going to keep those pores from getting clogged. I'd up my C, B3 and D intake, drink green tea and plenty of water. Mario Badescu has a nice, seaweed infused toner that does not irritate or dry my own sensitive skin. Ulta has it.
If you don't see significant improvement within 3 weeks, I'd consult a derm. Good luck to you!
