Hello beautylish Community,
Firstly, I would like to ask how everybody is, I hope everybody is good health.
From a very young age (16-17) I discovered one or two grey hairs every now and then, however pushing forward a couple years, and I think it’s getting really bad. I seem to find several dozens here and there. So far, I’m plucking them out, as I don’t like damaging my hair with heavy chemicals…
I don’t know why I am getting such a lot of grey hairs, whether it’s due to my work, studies, stress or just age, I’d really love to know and get to the bottom of this. In the meantime, is there any medication or anything I can do to, reduce the grey hair growth? I’d really love to know, any tips or recommendations from fellow beautylishers, who have, or know, anybody experiencing this.
Thanks so much in advance.
Take care.

Don't pluck then out.
My mom was the same way. I'd use a root touch up to match your hair color n do that instead of dying your whole head.

Hi Lorna! I am doing great, thanks girl! Hope you are too. :)
Now about your question, greying of hair has to do a lot with Genetics. My mum who is a doctor says that most people first experience greying at about the same age when their grandparents and parents did. Stress can affect greying so what I would suggest is that, at first, you stop worrying about your hair, greying is a natural process, worrying will not help at all. If you do not want to colour your hair, you might want to look into Lush Henna since your hair is already dark. Its a natural hair dye and it conditions hair beautifully, my roomie has a few grey hair at 25 and she uses it regularly. One other friend who has hair greying too since a couple years, uses an Ammonia free hair colour and deep conditioning masks and her hair is not damaged at all. Do watch your diet and make sure you eat healthy to maintain overall hair health. Also, there's no medication available for reducing grey hair growth I'm afraid.

Its lifestyle in general these days, too much workload(we went to a verrrrry demanding school so..), stress, not enough sleep that leads to greying. And one thing I forgot to mention about the Henna, it stays on your hair for a fairly long time, and interferes with chemical dye, also has a strong odour some people can be allergic to and is messy a bit when it comes to application, so if you plan to use it then do a patch test first to make sure you're not allergic to it and also you cannot colour your hair with chemical dye for atleast 1.5 months of Henna  application.

If you pluck them, you get more growing in.

Yep this is totally normal and totally genetic. The ladies in my family grey in their 20s and I'm 22 and just waiting to see my grey hair as well. You could so some highlights to kind of cover them, as opposed to dying your whole head where it'll be obvious when it grows out, as opposed to a more natural highlight look. It looks like you have dark brown hair so you could do some medium brown or caramel highlights and that would definitely make those greys less noticeable!

It's totally normal! I remember back in high school this girl that was 16 had almost all grey hair. Don't be embarrassed, you're beautiful!! (: Like the ladies said you can always dye your hair or get some highlights.

Studies show that pulling them do not cause more to grow, it's one follicle to one root. All pulling does is damage the follicle. That's said everyone is right, it's genetics, and a process if life, no medication can help, but do stress less :) over all a happy life is better then a stressed life. I think if the grey is scattered highlights will work wonderfully, if it's clumped (like my bangs😣) a more through all over application might be better. I have dark hair and tried henna, but it didn't take and it did smell horrible. I have found a garnier fruit based one awhile ago, but I can't remember the name. But it smelled amazingly delicious compared to any other hair dyes.

I'm 22, too, and a few weeks ago I also discovered some grey hairs. I went to my hairdresser and got some highlights, now they're covered up :) the highlights are just a little bit lighter than my natural color :D.
