I started the oil cleansing method just over a week ago. For those of you who have no idea what that is and are completely confused by the words "oil" and "cleansing" being used together, here's a link for some info: http://www.theoilcleansingmethod.com/ . It basically goes against everything we've been told about caring for our skin and when you actually think about it, it makes perfect sense. Our faces must produce all that oil for something, right?! Well, they do.
. When we remove the oil our skin freaks out and goes into overdrive producing more than we actually need. By replenishing the oil, it doesn't have to work so hard and your skin can chill out and do what it needs ro do.
ANYWAYSSS, so I started the method and I love it, however I'm having a hard te coming up woth the right combination of okls. Anyone able to help?

I'm using castor and olive roght now. I started off with about 25% castor and the rest olive, but found that it was leaving too much of an oily residue so i switched to 50/50 and after 3 days the skin all over my cheeks and forehead os flaking really badly.

Never use chemicals to get rid of your oil, there are lots of wonderful matting fluids (moisturizers) and foundations that help. It's not all about the removal f the oil on the surface if your skin it's when you use chemicals to draw it out of your skin. Keeping your skin (and hair) at a ph level of about 5.5 is very imprtant. Using chemicals high in acid or alkaline, and not replanishing skin with a moisturizer to balance it leaves skin again at the ph of 5.5 using an astringent like vinegar will leave your skin at about 2.5-3 if you don't rinse it after and apply moisturizer, hope this also helps xo

I wouldn't recommend using coconut oil anywhere on the face, it is comedogenic and can cause reactions in some people. Don't get me wrong, I love coconut oil but not for the face. I would recommend trying out some organic, cold-pressed castor oil (mix this will any carrier oils), almond oil, grape seed oil, etc.
