My mom had one.It was her wors/best decision of her life.The chemical thing didnt react good on her face but it cleared her face (but leaving scars).She didnt leave the house for a week etc.

I'm having the consultation beforehand, where they will tell me which one it is exactly that is suitable for my skin.

As long as the acids are applied correctly and even you shouldn't have any issues. Since it of your first peel they shouldn't be going deep anyways. She'll most likely start you with a progressive.
