Since you colored your hair after it grew out your roots, which hold color very well, turned the desired color but the rest of your hair was already black and unfortunately you cannot dye a light color over a dark one. What will probably have to happen is you see a professional and theyll strip the color out and redye it later because your hair will probably end up with some damage

Maybe try a colour remover and then dye it a colour closer to your roots. I recently used the jo bazz one and I definitely recommend it :) smells really bad though lol.

"Color doesn't lift color."
That was the phrase driven into my head in beauty school. You needed to put bleach onto the colored ends of your hair (very carefully not getting it onto your virgin hair or else you will get a strip of most likely blonde). Now you can get a clarifying shampoo and try to wash some of the color out, then try a color stripper.
Or you can go to a professional (or even a reputable beauty school, check online reviews) any prevent as much damage as possible.
