What helps my nerves:
1. Tea
2. Sleeping
3. Reading
4. Writing
5. Practicing my lines [if it's a play (or in your case, marching band auditions)].
6. Eating warm cookies, or brownies, or something
7. Listening to loud (er) music (I like Muse and Pierce the Veil)
8. Listing (aka making lists... I'm weird like that, haha)

Try practicing with a friend that's already in the matching band and asking them for pointers. You'll do find it's not that bad. I was in marching band but I didn't want to be in it.

Well I tend to worry a lot and I've learned to just not worry. If you have been working hard then you should make it but if you've been slacking then you shouldn't deserve it anyways.

Rub your stomach for 8 second then take a deep breath! I've been performing for ever & it always helps.

I'm the head drummer in our schools marching, pep, concert and symphonic bands. The key to a good audition is the way you present yourself. You need to have four things.
1. Confidence in what you are doing. If you exude confidence and not cockiness, your auditioners will see that you know what your doing.
2. Skill. You do nees to know what your doing. If you practice to the point of having the skill needed, you will feel like you have it, and in turn this will cause you to hold yourself to a higher standard. If you set high goals and hold yourself to them, you will be on good ground.
3. Respect. Your auditioners will want to see that you have respect for them and that you will respect your directors and drum majors, etc...So when you audition remember to say thank you, and ma'am and sir when adressing them. I always like to show people I have respect for them, by saying have a nice day or something before departing.
4. Love for what your doing. If your auditioners see that you have a passion for what you do, it will make an imact. Although skills can be learned, passion cannot. Skills can improve but only if your have the love and drive to help them do so.
Hope this helped doll! And don't be worried, I'm sure you'll do fine. :))))

Marching band is fun! Good luck! Try to keep in step with everyone and count the beats if that's what you're doing lol. Don't get too nervous because you'll do great! You'll get better at marching after a while😄
