Does any one have any recommendations for face moisturizer. I've started wearing foundation and concealers but my skin always get an ashy flaky look like I'm peeling. I've heard many ppl say to make sure to use a moisturizer before hand but I find that in general my skin stays really dry along with some oily patches. Help please!!

I really like the Aveeno moisturiser :) it feels really lightweight and evens my skin tone out too.

I've never tried them. Is there a specific one or just as long as it's aveeno?

Ok thanks, I saw it at the drug store earlier but I didn't want to just buy any moisturizer and chance that it really wouldn't do anything. Will look into it, maybe this will work :)

What are you doing for exfoliation? Sometimes flaky patches of skin are actually due to an exfoliation problem rather than a moisture issue.

Also, what's your skin type? Different formulation of moisturizers will work better for certain skin types. For instance, the moisturizer I use during the day is oil-free with mattifying agents because I have combination/oily skin. This keeps me from getting an oil slick through my T-zone an hour or two after I've done my makeup.

Personally, I use Paula's Choice Resist Super-Light Daily Wrinkle Defense moisturizer. It has an SPF 30 rating along with antioxidants.

I use neutrogena deep clean scrub that's oil free. I think I have combination/oily skin.

The scrub is a great first step. I can tell you from personal experience that a chemical exfoliant--we are talking BHA or AHA--can greatly improve and compliment the results that you get from manual exfoliation methods, like scrubs and cleansing brushes (Clarisonic, etc).

If you have combination/oily skin, then BHA exfoliants are probably a better pick for you. They will not only help to get rid of those flaky patches, but also help to control oil production and loosen any sebum that might already be clogging your pores.

I use a 1% BHA lotion from Paula's Choice twice a day after cleansing and toning my skin for about 3 years now, and it's made a huge difference in the tone and texture of my combination/oily skin.

When it comes to drugstore moisturizers, I really like to get something with tint and good SPF. Revlon Photoready BB Cream is quite hydrating, has ample UVA and UVB protection, and imparts a lovely, dewy finish to the skin. You may want to powder your T-zone, though, to keep it from getting too shiny.

Cool beans, Janette! Hope you'll like yours as much as I like mine. If not, just remember that you can get your money back as long as you return the product within 60 days. I've had to return a Paula's Choice moisturizer before and their customer service was awesome. Didn't have any trouble at all.

Thank you soo much ladies I definitely have some research to do lol. I try to powder my t-zone to avoid it but sometimes it's still shiny.

I have drier skin, I swear by face oils. I usually have used tarte's maracuja oil or fresh's seaberry, but recently ran out and found a l'oreal face oil which I was surprised at how much I like it. I got it thinking it would hold me over and probably just end up being a back-up if I ran out of my higher end face oil, but I really, really like it.
