Powder foundations in general don't cover acne scars too well I have found - but mine are very dark and require full coverage - I am personally sensitive to mica so I can't use the majority of the BM products without breaking out except the matte foundation but it's not enough coverage for me personally

Really depends on your skin type in my opinion. I have skin that's on the dry side and I have never had much luck with powder foundations.

Yes, I love bare minerals. try the pressed formula, it has more coverage. although their brushes suck. the Concealer brush is nice though, and its good for covering up scaring.

Bare minerals has a new liquid coming out called bare Skit foundation. I got in as a "Fab Ambassador" and am supposed to get a freebie in April. I'll post a review when I get it!
