Any suggestions on a good high end matte foundation? I recently purchased Hourglass Immaculate foundation and am returning it. I had no idea I had dry patches amongst all this oily skin but apparently I do...and Immaculate clung to them for dear life. I was thinking MUFE matte velvet? or even a mattifying primer?

I liked the matte velvet unfortunately I could not wear it more then a day I was slightly allergic to something in it. what about the Kat lock it. I tried it out and did like it more then the hourglass. did you try exfoliating beforehand that helps for a smoother application

I use a clarisonic everynight. I tried everything with hourglass...primer, no primer, maracuja oil, argon oil, no oil, then finally gave up. I figure for $55 I shouldn't have to work so hard at it, and it's just not for my skin. I was thinking about lock it but I didn't know it was a matte finish. I'll keep that one in mind.  thanks!

If you find a good foundation let me know. I have the same issue. Right now I'm using Mac Match Master. Smashbox oil free primer and Mac skin refined zone treatment. It helps control my oil but sometimes I feel a little dry but on the other hand if I use a satin or dewy foundation I'm an oily mess.

I'd say Nars matte or MUFE matte are the most popular ones. I'm dry so I can't use them, sorry I'm not more help! ☺️

MUFE Mat velvet + with Smashbox original primer underneath (only because I'm not oily, but an oil free would work) and Tarte's Amazonian CLay 12hr. Both very long lasting for me with primer first. And a nice matte, not overly powdery.

I love matt velvet. If it's a little pricy to you try revlon colorstay oily/combo formula. It's a thicker matt formula with the same staying power, and number 25 in matt velvet and 150 buff in revlon are extremely close in color. Stay away from the normal/dry skin formula, it's a runny mess that's hard to apply and will make you look like a oil slick.
