Purple and reds which this color is a combination of both is kind of hard to keep in the hair. I know because I did a black/ burgundy ombré in my hair a while back. I needed retouches every 1 - 2 weeks and the entire process was done professionally. Eventually I gave up and let it take it course. The fading led to this

I had my hair that color and loved it. the plum part faded fast to a really deep burgundy. I ended up going black to black after that.
