I realllllly want to dye my hair this color (even the half black) but people keep advising me against it. They say purple never works out. When I ask them what they mean they say it just doesn't work out.

I wouldn't bother, it's too much effort and most people get fed up of having such a vibrant colour when they grow up anyway. But whatever you wanna do, go for it but I can see why people have advised you against the decision x

Purple is one of the easier colors to do (unnatural wise.) I just dyed mine a deep purple. It was a long process (only because I wasn't smart about it and I still have some tweaking before I get it to where I want it.)

But I say it's easy because when you bleach you hair (yes you will have to bleach it. Double processing most likely. Which if you aren't skilled enough, don't do it) the hair comes out brassy as can be. You won't have to tone it (depending on the shade) because in the color wheel, purple counteracts yellow. Also when it fades, it doesn't go to some really unattractive color (like how blue turns green)

Manic Panic is garbage. it fades in a week, use isonic. its definitely worth it, I've has this color and it fades to a gorgeous lavender affer a month.

Me Having Bright Purple Hair Myself I Will Also Be Advising You Against It. It Was Horrible, One Of The Worst Choices I Have Made With Me Hair. Don't Get Me Wrong I Love Purple! Its My Favorite Color! But I'll Never Color My Hair Purple Again.

I went purple and loved it except for the fact that it washed out horribly within two weeks. I would advise you in getting colored hair extensions if you really want color.

It's just a hard colour to keep in. Not impossible but can be tricky. I still haven't found a purple or red that'll "stick" very well.
