I straightened my hair from approximately 13 years old until about 28/29 years old. Never ever wore it natural. I wouldn't even let my husband or best friend see it natural. One day i decided to attempt styling my natural hair. Unfortunately, curly hair is going to be more prone to damage due to the structure. My hair tends to be on the dry side and get split ends easily. I still straighten at times. I think it's a combo of finding the right shampoo/conditioner and the right styling products. Make sure you are getting trims on a consistent basis. (my ends could def use a trim RIGHT ABOUT NOW!). Anyway, idk what help to offer since I'm still trying every product I think might work. try a reconstructive shampoo/conditioner.

I also have wavy hair and used to flat iron it all the time due to frizz. I was really tired of it though, so I went natural-but I still had the frizz. So I looked some stuff up and boom, I found the easiest and most helpful product ever- OLIVE OIL. Yes, plain olive oil. While "frizz reducing products" claim to help your hair, they only solve it temporarily and might I add not all that great. Olive oil (or a lighter one, depending on your type of hair, oily or not) gets rid of the underlying cause- dryness! When there is a difference in humidity between the air and your hair (there almost always is) you hair tries to absorb some of that moisture since its dry-making it frizzy. The olive oil actually conditions your hair and locks in the moisture so there is no more frizz. I have been using a half dime size bit of oil every time I wash my hair. After I shower, I towel dry my hair and then rub the oil in, especially at your frizziest places, while its still wet. Then proceed as normal. My hair has one, never been so smooth, but two has never looked better! It's more manageable and shiny. I have tapered down on the amount I use since my hair is repaired, but since yours is damaged, I suggest using a dime sized amount until you see a difference. It should help a TON! And use olive oil at the beginning, it will repair the most. Then change if you feel it's too heavy. As well, invest in a good shampoo and conditioner! Hope this helps for you, it has for me!

I have similar hair I use a cream cleanser like wen... deep condition frequently style your hair when it's wet and then leave it alone... I use a palmade in my hair as a final step. I also put oil any kind in my hair at least once a week and sleep with it on shampoo in the morning...
