I always brake out in hives mostly every time I wear foundation. I wash my face at morning and night and I'm not allergic to anything in foundation products. What could be the problem? 😕

In my opinion, two options. Either you really are allergic and you don't realize it, or it may be allergies. Sometimes I put lotion on during allergy season and get hives on my legs. It's weird, but if that's possible for my legs maybe it's possible for your face!

Have you tried another foundation?

If you break out in hives you are obviously allergic to the foundation. also it could be another product you use when you use foundation like a primer a moisturizer or a powder or something like that. I'd say if you do use something else when ever you wear foundation than try each product by itself on bare skin to see how it reacts. if it is the foundation its self then try a foundation for sensitive skin/a hypoallergenic one that won't clog pores with more natural ingredients also it could be something that you use to clean your foundation brush with it you use brushes or sponges.

Yep, developing allergies without warning sucks. I developed an allergy to a medication I have taken off and on for years. I also developed lactose intolerance, after a serious brush with salmonella poisoning.

Shawna's suggestion is right. Patch test each product alone overnight and see what is causing the reaction.

You may want to ask your doctor about allergy testing. It really helps to figure out what specific ingredient you are reacting against, so you can avoid it in other products. Foundation allergies are usually to sunscreens or talc, but bismuth can also be a culprit. Rarely, some preservatives and pigments (especially mica or other minerals) are responsible.
