Natural Ways to Darken My Hair?

As my hair dye fades, it starts to look more and more orange/gold (which is why I purchased a purple shampoo to remove the brassy undertones). However, each time I use the shampoo, I notice the brassiness fades, but my hair is starting to look lighter. It's more of a dark dark golden blonde now, and I was going for a light or medium brown.

I was wondering if anybody knew of any natural and PERMANENT ways to darken my hair. I heard that you can use black walnuts or coffee to darken hair, but I guess the real question is how dark and how permanent are each method?

How quickly does each one fade if I wash my hair every other day?

I'm not sure, maybe Google it. I know you can use black tea, but I don't know how that'll work with blonde hair. sorry I'm not much help.

Well, I checked google, but I was mainly looking to see if anyone had any personal experiences on here with naturally darkening hair. So far, the blog entries and yahoo answers that I've read on this subject are from people who never use shampoo (honestly that sounds gross but whatever). Since I wash my hair every other day, it'll fade a lot quicker, so I'll have different results than those people.
