Okay so I've heard a lot of great things about oatmeal facial masks, but here's my question. a lot of the tutorials and recipes I've seen all include something more than oatmeal and water. so here's my question. can I mix plain oats in hot water and it will it make a facial mask that will do wonders like everyone says?

It doesn't work wonders but it is anti-inflammatory so it will help calm down red irritated skin or sun burn or acne inflammation and it should be distilled or purified water not tap water unless you boil it and let it cool you don't wanna cook the oatmeal by using water that is to hot.

It helps control my rosacea flare-ups. I use it in combination with chamomile tea(blood thinner/anti-inflammatory) and natural honey (all sorts of good properties). I boil some water, let the tea steep with the honey, let it cool, and then add oats. I apply the juices with a cotton round gently patting on my rosacea. But that's all I use it for. I can't imagine it'll do wonders if your face isn't irratated, inflamed, etc.

I use it with water every night. I've stopped using face washes as it irritates my skin and makes it more oily. You can't go wrong with it. Try it for a few weeks and see how you get on. It can also be applied with honey. I just leave it on for a minute or two then wash off while scrubbing gently. :)
