I'm going to get some extensions, but I have a straight short cut...would it look weird? Should I go to the salon and get like layers throughout my hair and the extensions, you know to blend them better? Lmao. I'm a boob, don't judge 😖

I've never got extensions myself but if it was me I'd take the extensions into the salon and ask their opinion on what the best course of action would be, then you could get it done there and I think that would probably give you the best end result.

I would get them layered because contrast between the two lengths might be a bit off.

I've had like every kind of extensions ever lol and my trick to making sure they blend is to make sure you space the wefts out, and put the last one as high as you can comfortably. Some people only put them like halfway up their heads and I find that it makes your own hair really noticeable on top. I've never had my extensions cut to "match" my hair. It's usually not needed if you know how to put them in. <3.

I've got short hair and been wearing extensions for years, Jessica hit the nail on the head by saying to wear the last one as high up as you can, it makes the biggest difference!

Renay if they're clip in extensions a blunt cut would not blend well.

I've had clip in extensions for about 4 or 5 years and I always have to get it cut a certain way.

If you to add layers keep them longer. If they're too short, it could end up looking like "scene" hair.

In my opinion, it's more important to focus on the ends of your hair. My hairstylists know me by now, but I always tell them "don't cut it straight across." Because the extensions will go straight down, but your hair will stick out on both sides like a box shape.

Then I tell them to "cut it choppy" (at the ends) usually with a razor which gives the best results in my opinion. I have super thick hair so I usually have it thinned as well so it will blend better.

I know you have short hair now, but just to give you an idea, this is usually the effect hair extensions have, so you can see why a straight across cut might not blend well.

Alot of my tips are for longer hair, so for now just add some longer layers and ask her to blend out the ends.

Ask your hairstylist as well and see what she recommends! Sorry this was so long, I could talk about extensions all day! 😆

Haha boob! The best option is to go to the salon, but you also can blend them better in to like curl or straighting them. Or just watch tutorials on youtube. I'm so sorry about my english haha
