I tried the kat von d palettes because honestly, I loved the colors, the packaging, the names of the colors, but I also had the same problem. The colors just didn't apply or blend well, even when I caked 'em on. I love kat...but it might just be the product???

and it's just my opinion, but I think quality brushes are worth it. I use mainly Mac, Bobbi Brown, and Sephora brushes. Once you go high end on brushes, it's hard to go back to "economy" type brushes, especially if you have sensitive skin. You just have to look at them as an investment and know that you are definitely going to get your money's worth out of them!

It has to be the product , try wet n wild there eyeshadows are very true to color an pigmented nicely . & no the brush doesn't matter , I've used high end and drugstore even dollar store Brushes , some say better blending brushes can only be obtained by high end company's like Mac and Lancôme and all of that but honestly , they all do the same job just with a different label and price !!
