I went to a stylist today for some insight on what I'm supposed to do with my hair.
The tips of my hair are slightly green (because I dyed over ombre hair), and everywhere else it's slightly brassy. I have to choose which one to fix, because I can't fix both. In order to take out the brass, I have to take out warmth. In order to fix the green, I have to put warmth in.
Personally, I hate the brass more. Orange is NOT a good color on me. I figured I could get some sort of purple based shampoo to take out the brass and focus on the green later… but then I wondered: are there any natural remedies for green hair?
My hair is damaged enough, I don't really want to buy toners or hair color. I DID want my hair to be a little darker, but now I really just need to focus on turning my hair a color that actually happens in nature. Does the tomato juice/ketchup thing work? If I sat out in the sun without UV protection on my hair, what would that do to the green? Will the bleached ends eventually come back through and the green will disappear? Please help!

Ok I would suggest that you spray lemon juice on your hair then sit in the sun so it will lighten your hair though you have to do this more to see a difference

Lemon juice will make your hair extremely brittle and dry, as well as bright orange.
Using ketchup on the green parts will remove the green. For the brassiness, since you don't want to use a toner, invest in a purple shampoo. You can even mix a tiny bit of purple hair dye with conditioner to help remove the brass.

Thank you, Emily!
My stylist said that tomato juice only really works on hair turned green due to chlorine. Honestly, I just think she wants me to pay her to fix it instead of letting me figure it out without the use of expensive chemicals. How long should I let the ketchup/tomato sauce/V8 sit on my hair before I wash it out? And do you recommend any purple shampoos? Also, If I remove the brassy tones, will that make my hair lighter? Thanks!

I'm not sure how long to leave it on, since I haven't had to do it myself. Maybe try ten to fifteen minutes and see how that goes? Kind of like cooking when you check every few minutes to see if something is done, haha.
I've heard great things about the Clairol Shimmering Lights shampoo. I'm bleaching my hair blonde soon and that's the one I picked up.
Removing the brassy tones won't lift it any more, just make it more neutral/ash toned. I mean this can create an illusion of looking slightly lighter depending on how orangey your hair is right now, but don't expect anything drastic.
