So I recently shaved "downstairs". It got really irritated so I used this oil/cream (I don't know the name of) to soothen it. The next day I had weird bumps/acne down there..?!? All the other times I've used this cream I always washed it away because it's so oily, but this time I left it on because I felt irritated... Is it possible I had a break out because the cream I used is non-comedogenic?

I meant to say is not a non-comedogenic* sorry!

It's just some oil/cream that was at my boyfriends house! I don't remember the name at all but it was very greasy, I actually think it was some sort of body oil, it had almonds in it

I don't think it's a break out, sometimes my legs get bumps after I shave if I put lotion on them right away. What ever you put on the irritated skin probably irritated it even more.

It might not be a breakout. I can't shave because my skin is too sensitive down there so I decided to do a one time waxing and then from then on I use hair removal cream

Pure aloe vera can do wonders for the skin, you'd be surprised! I recommend buying the actual frond thing from the plant at a grocery store, then apply an even layer to the area and let it sit for a while.

Thanks ladies! If it doesn't settle down tomorrow I'll go out and try the aloe Vera cream! My skin isn't sensitive down there I don't think, I've always shaved it without a problem

Use witch hazel, it prevents those bumps.

Use the diaper rash cream lol it sounds weird but it works for a lot of things like I would use it on my legs when I would get razor burn or I would use it on blisters and a lot of stuff

It's prolly a too close shave, and when you shave down thier it always likely to get razor bumps or ingrown hair. That's most likely the case.

Everyone gets those it's just irritation! Use conditioner instead of shaving cream or soap to help. Also try a new razor, and make sure the razor isn't rusted from the water.

Yeah, Suzy, I'm a virgin and I've gotten those just recently... So I'm sure you don't have an STD. Get a different type if razor and better soap or shaving cream to shave.

They are very weird, I've been wondering about them as well. I would say shave a little every time you take a shower rather than all at once to prevent irritation.

I mean I have a bf right now we've been together 8 months and we're eachothers firsts so... doubt it's an std... but it's just strange because I've used the same type of razor (fresh blade) and shaving cream (skintimate) and never had this before! it actually looks like acne of some sort! Tmi... perhaps I'll see my doctor haha

I get that all the time after I shave there! I thought I was the only one because my friend is always saying how it's so smooth when she shaves. Once the hair grows back a bit it always goes back to normal for me...

Use a single blade razor! Especially for sensitive skin and those who are prone to little shave bumps. x:

And wash your razor with hot water each time. Also make sure to let the shower hit your pubic area with lukewarm to hot water so it can open up the pubic pores. Therefore it will be easier for you to shave :3.

It's razor burn
Use some aloe on it and don't wear cotton under wear wear like silk or just a very soft fabric
Next Time don't shave against the grain because that is what causes the razor burn because it irritates the skin shave with the grain
to get a really close shave when going with the grain use a men's face razor like Gillette or something because guys shave with the grain on there face so it's how you can get a closer shave without the irritation
Also use a really good shaving cream or conditioner and make sure the area is dry after and not damp because that can also irritate it

And it is NOT an STD
