Staticky Hair!! Grr! cheap treatment?

I tried to curl my hair today and it looked good at first but then my hair started to get staticky! and its the curls just wouldnt stay like i liked them. What can i do to provent this from happening, help! :)

Run a dryer sheet over your hair. Or spray some hair spray on it.

I was told before you start doing your hair to run a small amount of lotion threw it.
