The brown dye wont lift the black in your hair, but will dye the highlights. Your hair should become black w/ brown highlights.
If you're not using box dye, I suggest just using a 20% developer. 20% will only dye your blonde hair, & is not strong enough to lift ANY faded black you might have. =]

Using a 20 vol developer will give yu the light brown look if yu go 10 vol the color will look slightly darker because its doing more deposit of the color

btw ladies would that cause any more damage to my hair?

Dying your hair will always cause damage. But 20 vol shouldn't do TOO much damage. Just get a quick moisturizing hair mask to help reverse any damage that dying your hair again could do.

Make her fix it... That's her job... You need a toner... If you dye over highlighted hair you have no pigment an the hair shaft is open which means your color will be darker than you hope for. You run the possibility of further damage. It sounds like she did not tone the hair... Call your stylist tell her your not happy she should fix her mistake at no cost!

20 volume has peroxide... It will darken your hair! 10 vol is deposit only.. You need a toner... Plz call your stylists, bleached hair is very porous an you don't need further damage...

Call the salon and say you are not happy. They must fix it if it's not satisfactory for free of charge. Trust me, I had whit blonde hair. Do get it darker you have to apply a filler. Those blonde strands are porous. They won't hold the color and it will turn out funny. Don't attempt to fix it on your own. Consult the original salon and then you may have to go to a new one. I had bleached blonde hair. I wanted my golden blonde back. The salon I went to churned my hair red. I made them fix it and even then they did a so so job. I had to go to another salon that had me go to a darker brunette. My hair got so damaged in the process that I can't go blonde again for a long time. Learn from my mistakes.

And don't forget protein treatments (joico.k pak twice a week only to fill the cuticle that's open an moisture shampoo am conditioner.. Coconut oil will soften it but be careful it's natural protein... Use no more than twice a week.

I heard of this product called, oops and it's bleach free so you won't have to deal with the dreaded frizz ball

Oops is sulfur based, used to strip the hair. It's not as harsh as bleach but still use caution it's a chemical in your hair.
