Hello Ladies ( and gents! )

I purchased both LC's eye shadow brightener and eye shadow primer for Black Friday at $10.00 each. I wanted to share my review with you all as I know the Eye Primer has sparked interest with Jacqueline recommending it for Oily Eyelids.
I try to cover my best on this review and I will be as brutally honest as possible for you guys =)

Packaging 9/10
The packaging is very very cute. It is girly cute which is why I give it one star less. The eye shadow Brightener comes in a pale pastel pink-coralish color and the primer comes in a pastel purple color. The lids are both metal and have a tint of color to them.
While packaging is cute! I like a bit of more polished look ( Think Charlotte Tilbury ). It does stand out like a sore thumb ontop of my vanity because of the whole color scheme, so if you're more into polished looks this might remind you of your days in Claire's.

Texture/Quality Review:
Eyeshadow Primer 10/10:
If you have any kind of creasing, you seriously need to get those eye lids checked because I don't think it's possible for eyelids to get oily with this primer. I seriously wouldn't use this primer unless you absolutely have crazy oily eye lids.
The texture is a bit dry, and it will feel dry on your eye lids. It did take away only a very tiny bit of the eye shadows finish..but most gals with crazy oily lids usually stick to mattes so that's probably not that big of a deal.
I also liked that it helped the color pop as well.. a lot of eye primers aimed at Oily Lids specifically tend to not help the eyeshadow color come out more at all.
Another plus is that this eye primer is also tinted which can help even out the any eye lid discoloration... I personally love it when eye primers are tinted because it allows the eye shadow to looks even and it's full color without having skintone/under tone/discoloration peeking through and altering the eyeshadow.

Eyeshadow Brightener:
1/10
This was a complete miss for me overall. It comes out very dry and kind of feels like the white stuff you use to fill in cracks in the wall ( I don't remember what its called- sorry! ) it's just very dry and not appealing.
Also, the Eye shadow brightener is like an OCC lip tar. It spreads everywhere! I put a lot in my photo just to have texture show as much as possible, but once I put it on my eyes it went up to my eye brow and down past my lower lash line ( Not as in faded white, but fully pigmented white up to my brows and on my under eye circles). This wouldn't be a problem if it wasn't for how dry it is! If you already have on foundation, it will make it look so cakey/dry. It was the only time I saw my RCMA foundation look dry and cakey.
Removing it also makes a big giant mess, it spreads everywhere.
As for the eye shadow brightening part... that's the only reason it gets One star. It does brighten up your eyeshadow color! But it COMPLETELY changes the texture which is so not fair! If you have a matte shadow it will probably not be an issue... but as you can see in the photo, the texture changes and it takes away from all the other colors and the finish of the eye shadow. I was so not a fan of this product and I don't think I'd be using it. It reminds me of a very messy drying version of a NYX Jumbo eye pencil.

And for Reference, I swatched Urban Decays Electric Palette in Fringe since it's already pretty pigmented. I also put in my normal eye primer by Tarte just for reference/comparison.

The brightener really did brighten it up but you are right, it makes the shadow look somewhat dull, what a bummer.

It does! But it changes the texture and makes it matte ( More matte in RL as flash actually did it some justice. ) I wished it would have worked since I am crazy for color but there's too many con's going on =(

I agree Alexis, I really love shimmers especially ones that have mix of colors in them. It makes perfect for those matte eyeshadow colors that have a hard time showing up though, like yellow green colors.

Thanks for the info kitty much appreciated.By the way since you love color and want something to set yet stay true to color have you tried Mac paint tubes? (Not to be confused with Mac paint pots) If not you must try because Mac has had these colorful tubes for years and they're made to be used alone and to be used as a base for shadows, when they're used with a matching color they pop color extremely well and helps shadow stay in place all day.:-)
