I have a really bad habit of bitting my nails and I want to stop. What is some ways to stop bitting your nails?

You can buy clear nail polish which tastes disgusting which is meant to make you stop.
You could also buy fake nails, get acrylics, gels or shellacs or have a pretty manicure so you won't want to bite your nails

I find painting my nails stops me biting them so eventually I forgot about biting x

What Caitlin said :) that's how I broke my biting habit, also I liked using Sally Hansen nail growth polish twice daily for a few weeks to begin with cause for me it helped speed up the growing process.

I would file down your nails so that they are still long enough to paint but not long enough to bite. Doing this will help get rid of the part of the nail you have been biting. The acid In your saliva can really wear down your nails. I had to keep mine filed for about 2 months. That's how long it took to grow out the damaged parts of my nails. You can buy clear polish which tastes disgusting but in my experience I would just ignore the bad taste. Painting my nails never helped me either , I would just pick off the paint. If I were you I might try some of the things above since they work for so many people. What really worked for me though was talking about it to someone.I then would show them my nails once a week. It made me self conscience about my nails. So instead of biting or picking at them and not realizing I was doing so, it made me aware of what I was doing. When I got to were I could grow them out,I started telling friends to tell me to stop when they saw me doing it.

I used to but my nails all the time?! And I tried fake nails but I still bit them and I started painting them with super cheap nail polish (witch taste really bad when you try and bit them) and I don't bite my nails anymore!!😊

I have bitten my nails for years and can now finally get them to grow. As appealing as put some pretty acrylic or gel nails on sounds I would avoid it, I did this when I first started to try and not bite them a few years ago. The problem it nail that are being constantly bitten are weak and then applying acrylics on top make them weaker, then when you remove your acrylics because the already weak nail has been filed so much it may be longer but the nail will be bendy and thin and then turn brittle and break. Therefore taking you back to square one, I personally am still not perfect at not biting them. Take now for instance I have had a really stressful week, one on my nails broke so then I just started biting the rest. You may have to except you will stumble from time to time, it's a habit it can be hard to stop. For me the best thug I can do is wear a growth polish for the first week when they are short and then begin to paint them. But as soon as I see chips in my coloured polish I will removed because I will tend to start biting that off, but that could just be me ☺️
