Hey! I'm completely new to makeup and I have no idea where to start. I have a white normal but tan-ish skin color with dark brown eyes and hair. My skin is super oily so I'm not sure where to start. HELP! TELL ME WHAT TO BUY!

Well since you don't know your skin color I would suggest going to sephora & get your foundation color checked, since your oily mention that to the worker so they will help you find a foundation for oily skin then I would look into a mascara :-?

You would probably be best just wearing a BB or CC cream to start off and to help combat the oiliness of your skin, buy either a BB or CC cream that is matte or you can buy some translucent powder to brush over the top of the cream. I also suggest beginning your makeup collection with a brow pencil, some quality mascara, blush, liquid eyeliner, champagne eye shadow, and a tinted lip balm. Some recommendations for mascara are Perversion by Urban Decay, They're Real! by Benefit Cosmetics, and Lights, Camera, Lashes! by Tarte. I have dark brown hair too and the brow pencil I use is the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz in Dark Brown. As for blush, I highly recommend NARS Blush in Orgasm. It's a really universal shade and looks good on EVERYONE! For the liquid eyeliner, I use Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner in Intense Black. It takes a little practice to learn how to use liquid eyeliner, but it has a much smoother result than a pencil. For tinted lip balm, I suggest Sugar Rose Tinted Lip Treatment. It's a little pricey, but totally worth it. Oh, and for champagne eye shadow, I use Urban Decay Eye Shadow in Sin. There's actually a kit with these items on Sephora's website called Sephora Favorites Superstars. I highly recommend getting that! It has all the essentials for anybody starting their beauty kit. Sorry this is so long! Hope it helps!

I'd start with lipgloss, a light pink color or peachy pink color, or if you want a reddish color, and some mascara :) if you want try out some light powders or powder foundations too!

A few products I reccommend for you:
Face: Revlon ColorStay Whipped Foundation, Covergirl 3 in 1 Foundation. (These foundations are medium coverage, but are buildable.) Or if you don't want to start with foundation right away, you can use a lighter formula that is supposedly better for the skin, a BB/CC/DD cream. The only good BB cream I have tried for my oily skin is Garnier's BB cream for oily skin. To set your bb cream /foundation, get a powder. I like covergirl's clean powder but I also heard neutregena's, makeup forever HD and Rimmel's mattifying powder are all good powders. You can even look through Beautylish's threads to find certain products for your skin type, which is oily. I'm pretty sure the question for what products control oily skin has been posed. Also, if you don't want to cover your entire face in foundation you can always invest in a good concealer and put it on places that "need" it, such as redness on your face, blemishes, or dark circles under your eyes and set this with powder. (I believe the difference with foundation and concealer is that foundation is used all over the face to even out skin tone and yes, to cover other imperfections but concealer is more of a spot treatment and adds a little extra coverage to the areas that need it.) P.S. I heard a good drugstore concealer for the undereyes is Maybelline's fit me concealer!
Blush is nice and simple to add a little color to your face, and I like powder blushes more than cream. I gravitate towards berry/light pink blushes, anything natural looking and apply with a light hand.
Mascara: I heard that Loreal's butterfly mascara is not only a good waterproof mascara but it has a nice effect on making your eyelashes longer on the outer part of your eye. Personally, I favor Revlons bold lacquer mascara (in a blue tube), Maybelline the falsies big eyes mascara (a mascara that opens from both ends) and *drumroll* Loreal's voluminous mascara/ telescopic/ missmanga mascara! However I must add the miss manga has a spidery lash effect.(where the lashes look really clumpy, but I like it although most people don't!)
Eyebrows and eyeliner: I wouldn't focus too much on these things if you're a beginner because they can be kind of difficult. However good products to start with might be Anastasia's brow wiz pencil, or even this eyebrow pencil from Rimmel. (I'll show you mine, it's a drugstore brand) for eyeliner, liquid liner with a felt tip is supposedly the easiest to work with when working with liquid liner, and I heard the revlon colorstay liquid liner stays on and it's pretty good. However, I just recommend tightlining your eyes with some random black/brown pencil liner. (Look up YouTube video on how to tightline your eyes)
Lips: keep it simple and neutral. Loreal's lipglosses are pretty nice, and baby lips are semi moisturizing and add a nice tint to your lips. I like Revlon's Colorstay lipsticks too! Add clear lipgloss if you like glossy lips.
Tools: I really, really have no brushes. But I suggest you get some to use your foundation/ blush. Ecotools is a cheap nice brand that's found at drugstores. If you want to curl your lashes before you put on mascara, by all means get an eyelash curler. (Look on YouTube for how to use those)
I have to go to bed now, so sorry this is all I could write! I'll post some pictures for brushes later!
