Has anyone used any makeup from Merle Norman? My friend manages a store here in town and I'd like to buy something but it's all soo expensive that I can't just drop a bunch of cash, so I want to buy something that makes sense to buy. Like something I'll get the most use out of. Any ideas on products and qualities?

I tried it years ago and found it heavily fragranced and more geared toward older women. My skin is super oily and it didn't work at all for me. Not sure if they've updated their line or not.

Definitely for older women

I agree. They aren't really geared towards any skin that has any problems. My sister got her eyebrows waxed there and I was playing around with the makeup, and by the time she was done my eyes were watering from the overwhelming scents, the ingredients just aren't made for younger acne prone or sensitive skin. They are made for older women who don't really react to much skin products. In my opinion they are way overpriced and not worth it, I think the ladies who buy it are just buying it for the name. Nothing was very pigmented, everything smudged easily, there just wasn't anything that impressed me.

I've never noticed any smells while in her store... I've use a gel liner from there a long time ago (3-4 years ago) and loved it. But I'm using pencil and liquid now bonnebelle and maybeline just because they are cheaper. Haha

Well I was playing around with everything. I couldn't tell you what was the worst, but I think it was the eyeshadow lol. I just know I'm very sensitive with perfumes in cosmetics and I was putting eyeshadow on my eyes and stuff, just playing around with all the stuff there, and the products made my eyes water from the perfumes
If you get a chance, definitely play around with them and see for yourself if you like them. I night have just been sensitive to a few ingredients. Is your friend willing to give discounts? Haha.

Yes she is haha. She also did my makeup for my wedding for free using instore products, when normally you have to pay for an application

Nice. Well if you find products that work well for you, definitely let me know. There's like 4 near me, closer than sephora so it might be easier for last minute things. :)

I will alyx, next time I'm in town I'll pop into the store to bombard her. Lol she's gone for a week to lethbridge then to Israel, so it may take me awhile to get all my ducks in a row lol.
