So I'm going to a party tomorrow night and I want to do a makeup look featuring a dark red lipstick, but I want advice as to how to do my eye makeup. Also if anyone has tips or a technique for blending eyeshadow together that would be much appreciated. I can never seem to get that right!

I would keep the eyes subtle. Maybe a wash of soft gold on the lids and a soft light brown in the crease, blended well. I like a tightline liner- I feel like you need balance with a strong lip. I do the crease first and then the lid. I have found that it's harder to blend a matte over a shimmer but easier to blend a shimmer over a matte. So I will keep my eyes open and do the crease- in this case I would do a very light brown and blend it outward a tiny bit. Back and forth like windshield wipers. And then I works close my eye and use a tapping motion to so the lid, I would use a very soft champagne gold. Then using a clean large crease brush, I would blend up to marry it together. Then I would do a dark brown or black tightline, your preference. Probably black for evening. I like gel- but pencil, liquid, whatever you are comfortable with.
That's what I would do: rock that lip and have fun!

I totally agree with what Jenni said. When I do a red lip I have a pretty much standard eye look. I use Lorac Pro pallet and I use the gold color on my lid. Sometimes I'll just use the champagne color on my lid but I wet my brush to get better color payoff. I blend my crease with a soft brown, and then I'll take a dark color- I have this one navy blue that's perfect, and I'll use it on my outer V. Good luck and post pics for us to see the final look! 😊

Jenni and Kathryn are right, keep the eyes simple so as to keep the attention to your lips. If you want a more daring look you could use a sweep of eye liner with a flick just to compliment. I often do this and with my false lashes it all seems to work. Have a great time.
