It depends really I love my brushes for blending things out in my crease and sometimes packing stuff on my lid but sometimes fingers do a better job when packing colour in the lid. I love the brushes from ebay or amazon that are the dupes for sigma ones xx

For precision, brushes.
For solely eye lid eyeshadow, you may use your finger but it's always nice to blend it bc it sort of makes your eyelid hold it (:

There is nothing wrong with using fingers but I personally hate using them, brushes all the way

It really depends. If you usually just do one light lid color, you're better off saving and using your fingers. But if you're doing eye "looks" of any sort (anything more complicated than an inner corner and brow highlight) you're really better off with a brush.

The problems that I have with using my fingers are many: first of all, it's not as precise and can look very sloppy, and the edges are almost always uneven. Second of all, excessive touching of eyeshadows can cause hardpan from all the oils on your hands and potential dirt on your skin. Third, I personally do not like wearing only one shade of eyeshadow at a time, which I feel would be necessary with your fingers as you cannot adequately blend your shadows together. Of course, these are all my own opinions, and what works for some may not work for all.

Greyson, if you feel like you can't pick up the shimmer or glitter, a brush sprayed with setting spray or water will work like a charm :) also always make sure that you're patting with your brush rather than sweeping or using windshield wiper motions. If you're using loose glitter or shadow, Lit's Glitter Adhesive is possibly the greatest thing of all time, you dip your brush in it, dip your brush into the glitter, and then apply like normal. Hope this helps!

No way!! I have never had an issue with picking up glitter products, I'm so sorry to hear that it doesn't work for you =( The Lit glitters and adhesive are awesome though, I keep looking for excuses to own all of them. What brushes do you use? Have you tried the Sephora brand? they're nice because they're not so expensive that you'll feel bad for using them with glitter or shimmer but they're not so cheap that they don't pick anything up =)

OMG, you have no idea. I honestly just want every color ever so that I can do a rainbow glitter look over my entire face...or maybe just my eyes, if I'm feeling tame.
I like this brush, I have a bunch =) It's a good size for packing on the lid http://www.sephora.com/classic-precision-powder-shadow-brush-61-P379537?skuId=1504430

Love my brushes! I can't get the proper precision with my fingers. MAC were my first brushes years ago so they will always be special to me. I love 239 for packing color on the lids, 219 for the outer V and under the eyes, 224 for the crease, 217 for blending. Also love Royal and Langnickel- I believe they are having a holiday sale. [R]evolution and Silk Pro are great. If you are going drugstore, Sonia Kashuk has great brushes (individual and sets) at Target.

I personally have never used my fingers as I was told that finger oils can wreck your shadows... So when in doubt I use a qtip. But again blending isn't easy with a qtip either. I have a mini travel set with 5 main brushes out of my complete full set. And I keep the minis in my travel case so I always have my brushes haha.

I've never used my fingers I use at least 2 different brushes for eyeshadow per day, probably 3 most of the time.
